Sooner than you can imagine, hopefully you will be standing under this sign after completing your Trek. This is a picture of 2010 crew 620-D1 from the Heart of Ohio. Yep we are tired, dirty (emphasis on dirty), and sore but we made it and so can you if.......
- You keep up with your payments ! Please keep current. The payment schedule coincides with the dates that fee's are due to AMTRAK and Philmont.
- you need to be in shape. We've lost advisors every year who were not in shape. The crew pictured hiked 105 miles and believe me it was difficult. Adults don't wait until April to try and get in shape or you will not make it, thats' a fact.
- Get your crew together and bond. Day 3 on the trail while hiking 11 miles is not the time to get to know each other. In order to succeed as a team you need to work as team. In order to work as a team you need to bond and get to know each other.
Some FAQ's:
- You will receive information in December or Jan with your medical forms and other materials. That's when philmont sends it out.
- You will receive your Trek Itinerary information in Mid March of the year you go, that's when you will select your Trek in an On-Line lottery.
- The TREK Itinerary is the route you hike at Philmont there are 36 different TREKS ranging in difficulty with 36 the hardest and 1 the least strenuous.
- We board AMTRAK in Sandusky.
- The March meeting is Mandatory please plan your activities and vacations around this very important meeting.
