APPLICATIONS ARE BEING ACCEPTED NOW FOR 2014
Please note that the Reservations will remain open until all slots are filled. Please pay close attention to the height and weight charts on page 2 of the application. If you are over the weight limit you will not be permitted to go. You can be under the weight limits but not over, no exceptions.
The cost for each base ie; Northern Tier, Philmont and SeaBase for 2014 will be Aprox. $1395.00 depending on the final transportation fee provided to us from the carriers on or about August 1 2013. There is a $75.00 per person administration fee for out of council participants. Individual scouts or leaders, as well as full or partial crews from a Troop or Venturing crew are welcome. If you would like to reserve a full crew for your troop please remember that applications must be submitted on time, with a name's list (roster) and if all deposits are received. Partial crews will be supplemented with individual participants as needed. These are COED contingents Crew size varies depending on which base you are going to. For example Philmonts crew maximum size is 12 of which a maximum of 4 adults over age 21 are permitted. If you are requesting a coed crew then you must have a female adviser, age 21 or over in your crew. Because we are a council contingent, we are registered as a venturing unit. Therefore if you are between 18 and 21 you may be considered a youth and not impact the maximum 4 adult rule. For Philmont and Northern Tier we will leave June 14th, 2014 returning around June 29th. Thats' leaving early in the morning (4AM) on Saturday the 14th and arriving home early in the morning on June 29thish. These dates may be changed depending on AMTRAK. Although Northern Tier will leave on the same date the return is not yet finalized. We are still awaiting confirmation for the SeaBase dates.
ALL PARTICIPANTS MUST TRAVEL WITH THE CONTINGENT we need to arrive and depart as a unit. There will be a MANDATORY contingent meeting in March of 2014

The applications will be processed in the order council receives them beginning December 18th 2012 for 2014. Individual scouts will be awarded a crew based on geography and other factors. Troops who submit a partial crew will have participants added to them. The crew breakouts will not be completed until all the slots are filled. In rare occasions troops may need to be adjusted based on the needs of the contingent but with the counsel of the lead advisors. All participants are required to travel with the contingent via AMTRAK. For safety all crews will have 3 adult leaders over the age of 21 in case one or more adults are removed prior or during the trek.
The application and information for 2014 will be updated when the actual 2014 trip dates as provided by Philmont if there are changes. However the actual departure and return may be adjusted by one day by AMTRAK but not until August of 2013. The contingent arrival date at philmont is set for June 15th, 2014.
